During the spraying of liquid
coatings or glue, solvent vapors and overspray
arising. These have to be extracted, respectively
be filtered. The maximum value for the ejection
of solvents is governed by the air pollution control
ordinance, as also the maximum allowable dust
emissions. The solvent concentration is determined
by the amount of air, it should not exceed 150
milligrams per m3 air. The aim is of course to
work with as less as possible of solvent. The
dust emissions should not exceed 5 milligrams
per m3 air. This can be controlled by achieved
designing of the filter system.
From about 6'000 m3 of air
per hour it is worth to install a heat recovery
system, which means the exhaust air will heat
up the cold supply air on low outside temperatures.
Generally, with a heat recovery system it is possible
to save energy up to 80%.
